The 3 Day Exciting Flying Gorilla Safari in Uganda is the perfect choice for travelers who want to experience mountain gorilla trekking while minimizing long road journeys. This safari uses scheduled domestic flights between Entebbe and Bwindi, allowing you to spend more time enjoying Uganda’s incredible wildlife and less time on the road.

You will fly over Uganda’s beautiful landscapes, including lakes, forests, mountains, and rural villages before arriving near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The highlight of the safari is an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience through the rainforest, where you will spend one hour observing a habituated gorilla family in its natural habitat.

Day 1: Fly from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast or upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, transfer to Entebbe Domestic Terminal for your scheduled flight to southwestern Uganda.

Depending on your gorilla permit sector, you will fly to Kihihi Airstrip or Kisoro Airstrip. The flight offers stunning views of Lake Victoria, rolling hills, forests, and the spectacular landscapes of southwestern Uganda.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your driver guide and transferred to your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The afternoon can be spent relaxing at the lodge while enjoying views of the forest and surrounding mountains.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.

You will be assigned a gorilla family and begin your trek through the dense rainforest. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most biologically diverse forests in Africa.

The trek can last anywhere from two to eight hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once found, you will spend one magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, groom, rest, and interact with one another.

After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation and enjoy the remainder of the day surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the forest.

Day 3: Fly from Bwindi to Entebbe

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled return flight to Entebbe.

Enjoy one final aerial view of Uganda’s beautiful countryside as you fly back to Entebbe. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight or dropped off at your hotel.
