3 Day Exciting Tour to Queen Elizabeth in Uganda

Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest and the second visited national park in Uganda after Murchison Falls National Park due to its proximity with primate parks such as Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, and Rwenzori National Park. The park covers about 1978 square kilometers. The park starts from the equator at the basement of the great East African rift valley couples with Savanah, riverine ecosystems, valleys, lakes, and forests. It is from this background that queen Elizabeth boasts a variety of wildlife species, magnificent scenery combining escarpments, gorges, and offering great views of the famous Ruwenzori Mountains dubbed the mountains of the moon.

These big four include lions, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards. Queen Elizabeth National park safaris have become famous recently because of the famous tree-climbing lions found in the Ishasha sector of the park. Other than this, Queen Elizabeth National Park is also a home of over 600 species of birds that include both indigenous and migratory birds that move all along from European countries. The park also has the highest concentration of hippos in the Kazinga channel which you can explore during the boat cruise safaris alongside other animals such as elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and birds that can be spotted at the channel.

Queen Elizabeth national park can be accessed through Kampala or Entebbe to Mbarara city then Kasese and then Katungulu and finally to Mweya. It takes about 6 hours to drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and then about 2 to 3 hours from Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the Ishasha sector. The park can as well be accessed by air transport from Entebbe or Kajjansi airstrip to Kasese or Mweya airstrip or Kihihi.
