Overview
This 15-day Uganda safari is created to allow you see the finest that Uganda has to offer. By the end of your safari, you’ll have seen the majority of Uganda’s national parks. The true experience begins in Kampala, where you will travel to Murchison Falls National Park for a game drive and launch cruise (with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary). You will then be escorted to Semuliki National Park for another wildlife drive, a view of the Sempaya hot springs, and a visit to the Batwa Pygmies. After Semuliki, the ranger will take you to Kibale National Park to monitor chimps and explore the Bigodi wetland.

Detailed Itinerary(Uganda safari)
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your lodge.
Your safari guide will meet you at the Entebbe Airport and transport you to your lodging in Kampala or Entebbe. Depending on when you arrive, you may be able to explore the town of Entebbe or the city of Kampala. You may learn about the tourist attractions in Kampala and what to do in Entebbe. Following the city tour, you will be taken back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.
After breakfast, you will pick you up and start your drive to Murchison Falls National Park. During your journey, you will pass through various areas, including the Luwero triangle a place famous for the early 1980s.
Luwero was a battle zone, with the National Resistance Movement emerging victorious. You will stop in Masindi for lunch and visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to relax and see the endangered White Rhinos.
You will proceed to the top of the Murchison Falls for photography and to witness the deafening roars of the Nile before heading to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.(Uganda safari)
Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
After breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive across the park’s northern area in the quest for the remain 4 on your big five list (buffaloes, elephants, Leopards, and lions). Murchison Falls National Park boasts the biggest number of Rothschild giraffes in East Africa. You will also see warthogs and various antelope species, including waterbucks and bushbucks.
Following the wildlife drive, you will return for lunch and prepare for the afternoon boat cruise. The boat takes you along the Nile River to the base of the falls. As the boat glides gently down the river, you will see antelope, crocodiles, elephants, hippos, and a variety of other park creatures drinking along the bank. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Semuliki National Park.(Uganda safari)
Your day will begin with an early breakfast, and followed by checking out and driving south to the picturesque town of Fort Portal. The tour takes you via the towns of Hoima and Masindi. Keep an eye out for the lovely landscape along the trip, particularly in Fort Portal. It is a small yet stunningly gorgeous town.
The driver should take you on a tour of the town late in the afternoon.
Day 5: Hot springs nature walk and cultural encounter.
You will enjoy an early breakfast before heading off the male and female hot springs. After viewing the hot springs, you will go on a nature walk through the woodland and grasslands in search of birds and wildlife.
The day concludes with a visit to the Batwa pygmies who live near Semuliki National Park in Uganda. The Batwa have a fascinating culture and history.
They were evacuated from Uganda’s gorilla parks and relocated elsewhere. Most have struggled to adjust to their new surroundings and way of life.
Next to the batwa visit will be proceeding to the adjacent Kibale Forest National Park, dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and bigodi nature walk.
You will wake up early for breakfast, after which you will drive to park headquarters for chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing you will proceed into the forest with rangers and trackers and once you meet up with the chimps you are to enjoy a once in a lifetime hour with these lovely creatures.
Expect to also spot blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, baboons, L’Hoest monkeys, and black and white Colobus, among others during the adventure.
You’ll return to the lodge for lunch before heading to Bigodi swamp. Bigodi marsh is a birder’s dream, with over 290 species documented in its huge swamps return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and afternoon boat trip.(Uganda safari)
Following breakfast willd be packing your bags, checking out, and starting your drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will get excellent views of the Rwenzori Mountains, commonly known as the “Mountains of the Moon.” Along the route.
You will stop to see the “Mabera ga Nyina Mwiru caves”. There is a local folklore around these limestone caverns that is linked to the tribal people who live in the vicinity. A local custodian will describe the caverns’ history and importance to the community.
After the caverns, you’ll head to the park in time for the sunset Launch sail on the Kazinga Channel. During the boat tour around the Kazinga Channel, you will encounter hippos spraying water right near to your boat. There will be many species of antelopes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and buffaloes. The Kazinga channel is an excellent birding location, with kingfishers, pelicans, and various storks frequenting the shoreline. Dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.(Uganda safari)
Day 8: Game drive through kasenyi and ishasha sectors.
Enjoy your morning breakfast and head into the wild for a game drive allowing you to see elephants, lions, hyenas, numerous antelope species, buffaloes, baboons, the elusive leopard, and enormous forest pigs. Following the morning drive, you will be driven back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on another wildlife drive in regions that were not explored in the morning, but still inside the Kasenyi and Mweya areas. During the second round of game watching,you go through the Ishasha section of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Flamingos, King Fishers, storks, and eagles are among the roughly 450 bird species that call Queen Elizabeth home. After such an interesting day, you will be transported to the lodge for dinner and sleep.
Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast, you will pack your bags, check out and start your drive to Bwindi with an en route game drive in the Ishasha district to see tree climbing lions. Tree climbing lions are extremely rare, found only in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park, Tanzania’s Lake Manyara, and South Africa’s Kruger National Park.
As you travel to Bwindi, you will pass through some of the most magnificent terrain in East Africa. The region surrounding the Kigezi mountains is described as “the Switzerland of Africa.” The undulating hills, lakes, rivers, woods, and vistas of the Rwenzori Mountains will keep you alert and focused. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 10: Gorilla trekking.(Uganda safari)
Breakfast at the lodge followed by a drive to the park headquarters for the briefing by the park Rangers who will explain what to expect, how to behave around the gorillas, and what to bring with you. After being allocated a gorilla family, the rangers and armed guards will transport you to the bush for tracking. As you look for the gorillas, you will encounter thickets, steep and muddy slopes. Mountain gorilla tracking can take anywhere from 2 to 5 hours, depending on which gorilla family you were assigned.
Once you get to the gorillas, you are expected to spend one hour with them. While with the gorilla troop, observe and record as many images and films as possible. After the gorilla adventure, you will return to the lodge to clean up and eat lunch, Dinner and an overnight stay.(Uganda safari)
Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
Following breakfast, your guide will transport you to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest and most romantic lake. The lake contains 29 islands, and you will spend your day with a boat ride, bird watching, going for nature hikes, and exploring the various islands.
Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda boasts numerous lovely settings for folks on their honeymoon. Visitors can explore the islands’ many communities, schools, and towns. You may also visit the famed punishment island and learn about its awful history.
Young females who were pregnant outside of marriage were allowed to die on this specific island. The majority were saved by impoverished guys who had failed to find a spouse. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
After breakfast, you will leave for Lake Mburo National Park. The to do activities before continuing on to Lake Mburo National Park include passing through Kabale, which has beautiful landscapes, hills, and mountains.
When you get at your lodge, you will have lunch, rest briefly, and then take a boat trip on Lake Mburo. Lake Mburo is ideal for bird viewing and observing animals as they drink along its banks. Watch careful for crocodiles and hippos. Dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.
Day 13: Morning game drive and transfer to jinja.
After breakfast, you will go for a game drive where you will see zebras and other animals. In Uganda, Zebras can only be found in Lake Mburo National Park. Over 300 bird species may be found in savannah grasslands, forests, swamps, and lakes. Buffaloes, leopards, jackals, and hyenas are the other species to keep an eye out for.
After the wildlife drive, you’ll travel to Kampala, stopping for lunch at the Equator crossing at Kayabwe.
You will proceed to Jinja via Kampala, stopping at the Sezibwa Falls and Mabira Forest. After you settle into your lodge, the guide will take you to the Nile River’s source. John Speke found the source of the River Nile, which is Africa’s longest river. It runs from Uganda to Egypt and ends at the Mediterranean Sea. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 14: Whitewater Rafting.
Wake up early for breakfast before heading down to the Nile for whitewater rafting. Whitewater rafting in Jinja is a full-day activity that will be one of the most memorable parts of your safari. You will receive the necessary training and equipment.
White water rafting requires a minimum age of 16 years. Although the activity is quite safe, it might be scary for individuals who have never done it before.
After completing the grade 4 and 5 rapids, you may rest, socialize, and party with travelers from all around the world. Your driver will transport you back to your lodging for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 15: Departure.(Uganda safari)
You will eat breakfast in the morning, pack your bags, check out and then start your ride back to Kampala. If you have a late flight in the evening and haven’t seen the Nile’s source, Mabira Forest, or Ssezibwa Falls yet, now is the time.
You might even take a tour of Kampala as you make your way to the Entebbe airport.
