Most visitors to Congo come to see the mountain gorillas in the Virunga National Park. Kahuzi-biega National Park, located in the park’s south, is home to lowland gorillas, which are less well-known than mountain gorillas but just as intriguing. This trip will offer you an insight into their lives.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kahuzi-Biega National Park(Low Land Gorilla Trek)
Upon meeting up with your safari guide at either the Kigali international airport or the hotel within Kigali, you start your drive to Bukavu, DR Congo. The tour will take you through the twisting roads of Rwanda, a nation of a thousand hills, passing through cities and villages. You will make brief stops to stretch and have a picnic lunch. Dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking.
Following your early morning breakfast will be a drive to the park headquarters for a briefing before you begin the lowland gorilla walk. The experience can take anything from an hour to several hours to locate them, depending on where they are nested. Once you’ve located them, you have one hour in their presence before leaving. You can sometimes locate them among the trees or on the ground, where you will have greater possibilities. After the joyful hour with the gorillas, you will head back to the lodge for lunch, relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Departure.(Low Land Gorilla Trek)
After breakfast, your safari guide will transport you back to Kigali. Enjoy Rwanda’s meandering roads while reminiscing about your vacation to the Congo jungles. You will be dropped at the airport for your evening departure flight or to your hotel in case you’re still within Kigali.(Low Land Gorilla Trek)
