Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve.

Your safari guide will pick you up at the airport or your hotel and begin the drive to the Masai Mara Reserve. You will pass across the vast plains of the East African Rift Valley, Masai country, and the Narok area. The Masai are perhaps of Africa’s last authentic livestock nomads.

Arrival at the reserve is in the afternoon. You will be escorted to lunch, checked into your hotel, and served drinks. Depending on whatever lodge you select, you should already be able to see animals from a distance.

The driver will then take you on an afternoon/evening game drive to provide opportunities to observe buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes. You should travel all the way to the river to observe hippos, crocodiles, cheetahs, and the rare leopard.

Dinner and Overnight at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge, Mara Serena Safari Lodge or Sarova Mara Game Camp.

Day 2: Explore Masai Mara National Reserve.

Get up early for one of the most intriguing days of your life. You will spend the entire day going through various portions of the reserve. The open-roof vehicle provides superb views of the wildlife and scenery.

Expect to witness the big five mammals: buffaloes, leopards, lions, rhinos, and elephants. The early game drive provides a fantastic opportunity to see predators like lions and cheetahs make a kill. Don’t forget to reposition your cameras so you may get stunning photographs of Africa’s iconic beasts.

The Driver/Guide will drive you to the Mara River, where you will view more of the big five and other animals as they drink along the riverbanks in the early afternoon heat. Every year, the Great Animal Migration takes place along the Mara River. In between game drives, you’ll have a picnic lunch surrounded by gorgeous scenery and animals.

Your hotel prepares the picnic food, which is carried in boxes. Do not attempt to feed the animals, particularly baboons and monkeys, while eating lunch. One of the breaks on the 3 Day Kenya Wildlife Safari will be a visit to one of the Masai settlements (Manyattas) located near the reserve.

A manyatta is a group of traditional houses surrounded by thorny fences, with cows in the center. The thorny walls protect communities and animals from predators such as lions and leopards. During your village tour, you will meet with elders to learn about the Masai people’s nomadic lifestyle, customs, and culture. They will entertain you with traditional dances, music, and folk stories. Most Masai communities include a market where visitors may buy souvenirs and beads.

Dinner and Overnight at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge, Mara Serena Safari Lodge and Sarova Mara Game Camp.

Day 3: Departure.(Masai mara safari)

Wake up early and wait for the driver to take you for the last game drive. The wildlife drive will be conducted in the Masai plains to capture the predators hunting once more. Look for lions, ostriches, giraffes, jackals, and hyenas.

The Masai Mara is one of the few sites where you may still observe wild rhinos grazing freely.

After the game drive, the guide will drive you back to the hotel, check out and begin the drive back to Nairobi. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to shop and see local artisans. Luch will be enroute and on arrival in Nairobi, the guide will then drop you off at the Airport for your departure flight back home.

End of tour.
