The 10-day Uganda Safari takes you on an unforgettable journey through the Pearl of Africa, starting in Murchison Falls National Park and continuing through Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Lake Mburo National Park. The highlight of this incredible tour is an encounter with mountain gorillas, but you will also get to visit Uganda’s best national parks and see all five of Africa’s big mammals.

Detailed Itinerary(Uganda safaris)
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.
You will meet up with your safari guide to begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, starting with a briefing about the tour next will be a long drive with stops at several small towns and the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking before proceeding to Murchison falls national park.
Driving direct to the top of the Murchison Falls, will give you a clear view of how the Nile fits way through a gorge and then thunderously drops, creating a stunning rainbow in its wake. After observing the most powerful falls in the world you will continue to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and evening boat cruise.
After breakfast, your guide will take you around the wild in the quest for the several wildlife species that reside within Murchison falls antioanl park and these include the lions, giraffes, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, and countless antelopes. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and rest.
In the afternoon, you will go for an afternoon boat excursion along the Nile.
This is where you’ll learn about the rich wildlife of this stretch of the Nile River. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, water bucks, birds, and much more. The boat trip concludes at the bottom of the falls, giving you a variety of vistas and sensations. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.(Uganda safaris)
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale forest national Park.
After your morning breakfast, pack your bags, check out of the lodge and drive to kibale forest with an en route game drive and proceed through Fort Portal.
Take in the breathtaking scenery of the countryside, passing through small towns, districts, rivers, lakes, forests, and locals doing business or attending to their farms. You will have lunch en route before continuing the primate capital of the world.
On arrival at kibale, check in, refresh and then go for a guided nature walk through the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, which is home to over ten species of primates and an amazing collection of birds. This is an excellent opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about a local project for women in the area.
Drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.(Uganda safaris)
Your chimpanzee trekking adventure begins early in the morning with a mandatory briefing, so make sure to get up early enough for breakfast. The trekking will take you through the natural green forest of kibale giving a full hour with the chimpanzee and variety of birds with in the forest.
12 other species of primates (including L’Hoest’s monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, Uganda Mangabeys, coppery-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and others), forest mammals, ancient forest, insects, and more.
Return to your lodge for lunch refreshment and then pack your bags for a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check in at your lodge, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Morning game drive and an evening boat cruise.
Enjoy your morning breakfast and drive into the wilds of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Driving through the Kasenyi tract draws you close to the Buffaloes, lions, elephants, birds, antelopes, hyenas, and the rare leopard that reside in this area.
After seeing the animals and fascinating surroundings, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch relax and get ready for the afternoon boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. This canal links Lake Edward to Lake George and contains one of Africa’s biggest concentrations of hippos.
A boat excursion down the canal will allow you to see plenty of wildlife species including the hippos and crocodiles, as well as an incredible assortment of birds like the african fish eagles, Great White Pelicans, Great Cormorants, and African spoonbills.
After the boat adventure you will drive back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Nature walks through, Maramagambo forest and Kyambura Gorge.
Next to your breakfast will be a drive to the Maramagambo forest. The guided walk in Maramagambo forest for the birds, primates, butterflies, moths, pythons, and bats. Baboons, wild chimps, red-tailed monkeys, L’hoest’s monkeys, black and white colobuses and plenty more. Following your tour to the Maramagambo forest, will be a drive to the lodge for lunch and some refreshment.
Later in the afternoon, you will go to the famed Kyambura Gorge. This subterranean forest originated millions of years ago. Following the creation of the Great East African Rift Valley, secondary faulting occurred on its bottom, resulting in this canyon.(Uganda safaris)
The forest within the Kyambura gorge is home to an amazing variety of birds and creatures. Chimpanzees are the main attraction, although visitors may also see hippos, elephants, birds, and lesser primates within the canyon. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.(Uganda safaris)
Waking up for your breakfast will be followed by a game drive through the ishasha sector on your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The primary goal of the wildlife drive is to observe the legendary tree-climbing lions of Ishasha.
Having a stop over for lunch, you will proceed with the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park home to 27 species of frogs, 400 plants, 120 animals, and more than 350 birds. The forest has an area of 331 square kilometers. Check in, dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking and a cultural encounter to the batwa.
This will be an interesting day, and you should wake up early for breakfast and drive to the park headquarters with a packed lunch. While at the headquarters you will have a briefing including all you need to know about gorilla trekking.
Proceed to the jungle with rangers and trackers and once you meet up with the gorilla family you are spend an hour with these mysterious apes. Taking pictures and videos of your like, and receiving your certificate.You will drive back to the lodge for refreshment and later in the afternoon go for the cultural trip to the batwa.(Uganda safaris)
The Batwa were the original residents of the woods of Bwindi, Mgahinga, the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, and Virunga in Congo. Most were pushed out of the woodlands without recompense or sufficient adaptation to modern life. The nature walk will teach you about their old ways of existence and the problems they face in adapting to contemporary life outside of the forest. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
After breakfast, you’ll leave Bwindi for Lake Mburo National Park. The route to Lake Mburo National Park takes you through the “Switzerland of Africa”. Expect to pass across stunningly gorgeous terraced hills, valleys, and massive banana plantations.
Lunch will be in Mbarara before heading to the park, arriving in time for the afternoon boat trip on Lake Mburo, where you’ll witness water birds, hippos, zebras, crocodiles, and the majority of the park’s animals drinking or bathing along the shore.
Thereafter you will drive to your lodge, check in, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10: Departure.(Uganda safaris)
A morning game drive that begins after breakfast will conclude the wild adventure. Enjoying the zebras, warthogs, giraffes, impalas, hyenas, buffaloes, and, if you’re fortunate, a leopard or two. You can opt for a walking safaris, horseback safaris, or wildlife watching on quad bikes as the closure of your wild adventure.
After your last wild adventure, head back to the lodge, freshen up, check out and proceed you’re your drive back to either kampala or Entebbe for your flight back home having a stop at the equator for lunch.
