3 Days Murchison Falls Safari

Overview

This 3-day Murchison Falls safari will take you to the home of the world’s most powerful waterfalls. Murchison Falls National Park spans an area of 3,840 km2 and was designated a wildlife reserve in 1926. It comprises of the Savannah grasslands and the Victoria Nile, which divide the park into the northern and southern banks.
Murchison Falls is home to over 451 bird species, including the Great Blue Turaco, Goliath heron, Shoebill, and dwarf kingfisher, as well as 76 mammal species, a large number of Nile crocodiles, and, most notably, the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls, which squeeze their way through an 8-meter-wide gorge.

Detailed Itinerary(3 Days Murchison Falls)

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Meet up with your safari guide, go through your 3-day Murchison Falls safari. You will then begin your six-hour journey to Murchison Falls National Park.

Driving through the historical Luwero triangle and then make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking.

After tracking, make another stop in Masindi for lunch before heading to the park. After lunch, drive towards the top of the falls for a scenic view of the falls.

Take as many photographs as possible before proceeding to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and evening boat ride

Get up early, breakfast followed by a game drive where you can expect to witness a variety of wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, water bucks, and birds.

After the game drive at, return to the resort, freshen up, and have lunch before the afternoon boat trip.

On the boat, you will observe Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and elephants along the Nile’s banks, as well as numerous lovely birds singing in the trees such as bee-eaters, colorful kingfishers, shoe-billed storks, and many others.

The boat journey will take you to the bottom of the Murchison Falls, where you will have a clear view of the tremendous cascades.

Drive back to the lodge after your boat adventure. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Departure

Check out the lodge, and enjoy your breakfast before driving out with a game drive back to Kampala. It will be a fantastic experience as you seek numerous animal species, the majority of which will be spotted feeding on the grasslands, such as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, lions, and antelopes, not to mention a variety of birds.

Stop over at Masindi for lunch, then travel to Kampala arriving in the afternoon. The driver guide will then drop you of at the Entebbe airport or at the drop off point of your choice.
