Our 4 Days Bwindi gorillas & Lake Mburo Safari take you to Lake Mburo National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, both in western Uganda. Visit Uganda to view the mountain gorillas. Hike into the dense forest with a local tracker in search of these magnificent species to observe Uganda’s birds, frogs, and butterflies.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

On arrival, you will be welcomed by your safari guide. After the meeting, drive to Lake Mburo National Park a destination dominated by acacia forest, unlike most other parks in East Africa. It is the best stop to see the massive eland antelope, and there are approximately 68 different kinds of mammals, including zebras, impalas, buffalo, leopards, hyenas, and jackals.

Lake Mburo is home to hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds, while the papyrus swamps provide habitat for the Sitatunga antelope and red, black, and yellow papyrus Gonolek. Take an afternoon boat trip across Lake Mburo, keeping an eye out for a variety of bird species in and around the lake. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

On the second day of your 4 Days Bwindi gorillas & Lake Mburo Safari, have breakfast then head out for a morning game drive in the quest to see the zebras, giraffes, impalas, Sitatunga, waterbucks, buffaloes, reedbucks, and many more.

After the game drive, travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, known for its incredible biodiversity. The park protects numerous endangered species, including half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Having a stopover for lunch you will proceed with your drive reaching the park late in the evening. Check in at your lodge, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking adventure.

Enjoy your early morning breakfast, leave the lodge with a packed lunch, and drive to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park’s head ranger after which you will be divided into groups of 8 people and each group assigned to a specific gorilla family.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park features 15 habituated gorilla families, eligible for trekking.

After your gorilla trekking adventure in the Bwindi Forest, you will be given time to have your packed lunch. Hike back to the starting point where your guide will be waiting for you and then drive back to your lodge. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Departure(Bwindi gorillas & Lake Mburo)

Wake up at leisure and eat breakfast at your lodge. Pack your bags, check out, and drive back to Kampala, where your guide will drop you off at your preferred hotel in Kampala or at Entebbe Airport in time to check in and board your flight home.
