Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison fall national park.
On the first day of your 10 Days primates and wildlife safari in Uganda, our guide will pick you from the hotel, the guide will brief you about the 10 days Uganda safaris. Later embark a drive to Murchison falls national park, through the lush countryside, past luweero, the guide will tell you the implication of the war in the luweero to the current Uganda government. Later proceed to Murchison national park lunch en-rout. Arrive at the park and head to the top of the falls, there is nothing as breathtaking as watching the water gush through the 8m gorge, and lowering down 45 meters hence causing the ground shaking. Later depart the top off the falls and head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
Get up in the morning, have the best of breakfasts and be led away by the guide to the parks finest spots for the game drive preferably in the northern sector of the park. There you will be position to view wildlife such as the giraffes, elephants, lions, antelopes, buffaloes, hartebeests, warthogs and many more. Depart the game drive and head back for lunch and brief relaxation. In the afternoon drive to the Nile with the excitement of taking a boat cruise. Early in the morning, you will be treated with breakfast at your lodge, later pack your bags and board the vehicle for transfer to Kibale forest national park, famous for hosting the biggest number of primates in Uganda and east Africa at large. Depart Murchison falls for a long drive that can take you about 6 hours you will have at fort portal town as you appreciate the rewards of nature to the fortpartal evidenced in impressive views of the Rwenzori ranges, crater lakes and many more. You would opt to bigodi swamp walk at bigodi swamps to get acquainted with the several bird species in the area as you take the swamp walk. Later you will head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Morning Chimpanzee trekking
On the fourth day of your safari, get up early In the morning, have breakfast and head to Kibale national park. The park is known to home to several primates, to mention l’hoest monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, red tails etc. Despite having multiple species of monkeys, your prime target is the chimpanzees. Head to the park and to chimpanzee trekking kicks off, you will come across some of the above mentioned primates as you search for the chimps in the forests, get to appreciate the flora and founa the jungle. Upon meeting the chimps, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour interacting with them taking as many photos as you can. Later after trekking, head back to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, depart kibale forest national park for Queen Elizabeth national park, arriving in the late afternoon/ evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise.
Arise early in the morning, have breakfast and board the vehicles for another wilderness experience, drive to the plains of Kasenyi in the savanna in search for the Uganda kobs, warthogs, elephants, hippos, buffaloes and lions. Later you could pass by the craft shops to check out some of the African crafts and possibly carrying some as souvenirs back home. Head back for lunch at the lodge. Later in the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise on Kazinga channel a link between the two lakes (lake Edward and lake George) Kazinga channel harbors wildlife such as Hippos, elephants that show to enjoy a cool down in the waters, buffaloes, crocodiles and several bird species on the shores.
Day 6: Forest walks and chimpanzee tracking.
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast then get up and transfer to Maragambo forest for forest walk with possibilities of seeing the rock pythons, bird species and bat caves. Later you will head to Kyambura gore for chimpanzee trekking. Depart Kyabmbura and transfer to your lodge,Dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National park.
Early in the morning, have breakfast and embark on a journey to bwindi forest national park south of Queen Elizabeth Park. You will pass via Ishasha with chances of seeing the tree climbing lions. Proceed to bwindi the home of the gentle giants (the gorillas) bwindi is endowed with other flora and a founa i.e. 400 plant species, 120 mammal species. As you drive through the lush countryside, you will notice the area being covered by tea plantation, banana plantation etc. arrive at the park, check in at your lodge, and have dinner and an overnight stay
Day 8: Gorilla trekking and community walk
Have breakfast and transfer the park headquarters be briefed on the gorilla tracking procedures such as the dos and don’ts in the gorilla tracking. Also be assigned a game ranger and a gorilla family to track from. Enter the jungle in search for gorillas, it can take between 50 minutes to 7 hours to find the gorillas as you transcend the jungle, you come across other wildlife the hike can be tedious but at the end of it all it worth it . Upon meeting the gorillas, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them interacting and taking as many photos as you can. Depart the jungle and head back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch you depart the lodge for a guided community walk visiting the community around the national park. You will interact with the community learning how the local go about their lives.
Day 9: Transfer from Lake Mburo National park.
Wake and have breakfast, later embark on safari lake Mburo national park though the hills of kabale, lush country side, banana plantation you will appreciated the land environment as you travel, the journey could take you about 6 hours to get to lake Mburo national park. Lake mburo is home several herds of zebras which you see from almost every corner around the park, the is also home to antelopes, water bucks, buffaloes, giraffes, elands, baboons, warthogs and several bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 10: Game drive and transfer to Kampala.
Early in the morning on the last day of your safari, have breakfast and head for an early morning game drive in park viewing zebras the most popular inhabitants of the park, buffaloes, elands, water bucks, antelopes, hippos, giraffes, warthogs and several bird species. Later head to the lodge, check out and transfer to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for lunch later leave and transfer to Kampala and to Entebbe for your flight back home.
